AEROSIL R 972 PH NF EP

AEROSIL R 972 PH NF EP is a high purity, amorphous, anhydrous, hydrophobic colloidal silica for use as an excipient in pharmaceutical products. It has a specific surface area of 90-130 m2/g and tapped density of 50 g/l. AEROSIL R 972 PH NF EP is tested according to Ph. Eur., USP/NF monographs. It acts as a glidant improving powder flow and is suitable for very hygroscopic and/or cohesive powders used in the pharmaceutical industry. AEROSIL R 972 PH NF EP can also be used as a viscosity adjuster for thickening non-polar pharmaceutical oils and as a stabilizer for water in oil emulsions used in pharmaceutical formulations.
